MP3 REVIEW: Spell Hound “Guerrilla EP” (Aural Sects)

As this album opens up, you can hear various electronic noises that are taking seapunk to the next level.   I hear bits and pieces suggesting that this could be the music in between shows on Adult Swim.

However, the further you go into this music, the more you find to like about it.   What I once thought of as merely being a bit of blips and other noises turned out to be a pure stroke of genius.

In the middle or so of these songs, you’ll find one that can almost ground this band into the genre of new wave or the like.   But then we hit the last song, “White Noise” , and I am shown why this music is so vital to our society.

Part slam poetry, part political, part riot grrrl, this album ends with what can only be described as amazing.   If you have any doubts about this when you first play it, they shall all be washed away by the time you reach the end of this epic.
