CASSETTE REVIEW: 3 moons “Live at Hotel Jambox” (Teen Action Records)

Side A begins with the guitar chords that stop and start back up again quickly.  It becomes somewhat trippy, with beats and loops showing up next.   It has melodic elements to it like Blind Melon or Stone Temple Pilots.    Then a clanking sort of loop comes out which I like to call “The Wandering Cowboy” and before the side is done we hear the snake charmer as well.  This obviously has me thinking of Indiana Jones.

On Side B, we get some jazz sax which gives way to percussion based noise.  Then it gets solemn, with a nice guitar part.   We are finished off by sort of chanting/singing, as if by monks.

For one thing, this definitely does not show much sign of being live- in the sense that nothing is lost in the recording process- yet it is also just an adventure from start to finish that I feel would sync up fairly well with the Indiana Jones trilogy at various spots.
