This is
two songs, which makes a lot of sense when you think of the “/” as being “bw”. The first song is a bit heavier, faster pace
than the second song but they both have this synth/drum machine/almost goth
quality to them. I pull out influences
like instrumental NIN as well as Marilyn Manson.
So yes,
at this particular release I do question whether or not Illegal Wiretaps have
indeed gone goth. There is a computer
voice in the first song that says the word “suck” a lot… That’s kind of
vampire-like… Vampires are often related with being goth… I’m just throwing it
out there.
