We begin this cassette with guitar… with a lot of guitar. There are spoken vocals and then I’m beginning to think that maybe this is going to be something from the ‘80’s. Before too long, we get into some crazy indie rock ala Q and Not U.
The music begins to get heavier, and I’m hearing hints of something like Mudhoney come out, which I think could be something more of an accurate portrayal of Side A than anything else I’d been hearing.
On the flip side, we get to hear something a bit more instrumental and yet somehow also more like At-The-Drive-In. That rare combination of grunge and whatever came after grunge when ATDI had that angry energy, New Tongues truly could be the ones that we have all been waiting for.
