Ten Kens “Namesake”
“Namesake” has some trippy classic rock elements to it, but it also does remind me a lot of Spinal Tap for the vocals especially. This album just goes all over the place and at one point in my notes I wrote a question which I still stand by:
“This is pretty crazy, how the fuck am I supposed to review this?”
I still stand by that notion. It’s not that this album is bad, per se, it’s just that it’s all over the place. I know music can be very scatter brained yet still very good. This is just one of those instances when I believe that this music not having any particular direction is working against it as opposed to making it seem artsy.
