CD REVIEW: Britney Spears Femme Fatale (Jive)

Britney Spears Femme Fatale (Jive)
Upon the release of Britney Spears’ first song and her first album, I was not a fan of the bubblegum pop thing.   Eventually, to make a long story short, it seems as if the once child star has emerged as a diva, where she now writes her own songs and has kind of taken back in a way what was stolen from her.    Around the time that the song “Toxic” came out I was no longer ashamed to admit that I like Britney Spears’ music.
Then Britney did the impossible.  She put together a remix of a song featuring Ke$ha (one of my favorite new crazy women) and Nicki Minaj (my favorite rapper/singer).     When I first heard it on the radio, all I could think was “Is that Nicki Minaj?  But I hear Ke$ha too… And Nicki just said Britney by name… What is this?  Awesome overload… Head exploding”.     It’s a true story, ask my wife.
On a side note, does anyone else think that we’ll one day see a movie featuring Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, much like we did with former pop princesses Tiffany and Debbie Gibson?   I would pay to see that movie.   It’d be better than From Justin to Kelly, though most anything would be better than that movie.   It’d be better than Crossroads and any movie Christina Aguilera might have made or considered making.    So let’s do it, people.   Britney.  Christina.  Giant Squid.  Mega Bear.   Voltron.   Where do I sign up?
Might I also add that this is Britney Spears’ seventh studio album, the same number of albums that Death Cab for Cutie has done.   I’d like to see a side by side comparison of each album throughout the years.   You know, Britney’s first album versus the first Death Cab album and so on.
Oh yeah, so there are songs on here.  If you’re a fan of the Britney Spears that has the title song out there, then you’ll like these songs.   If you were more of a fan of the “Oops I Did It Again” era or just the trashy K-Fed dumping baby having buffet crushing trainwreck, then I do think it is time for you to grow up.
