Cassette Review: K.M. Toepfer "Instigate" (Obsolete Units)

http://obsoleteunits.com/available/

The sounds K.M. Toepfer creates (or manipulates) on "Instigate" are not hard to describe.   It is the crackling static we have all come to know and love that has been described in various forms over time but here specifically just happens to sound like someone searching through to find a radio station that actually works.   (Or for that matter, it could be searching for a signal on a transmitter type radio, but we won't go there right now)

This goes on throughout the whole of sides A and B.   The only thing that really makes me think Side A and Side B are different is that I can hear these bug zapper type noises on B that I don't recall hearing on A.

It's not that this is bad, it's just short and to the point and so thus is this review.   There just isn't a whole lot to say about something that could be both drone and minimal, but you should definitely hear this one for yourself.
