MP3 REVIEW: Makeup and Vanity Set “Charles Park Trilogy” (Telefuture Now) [Part 2/3]

The second installment in the “Charles Park Trilogy” drops big synth and continues to provide instrumental new wave sounds of big beats and something between “Miami Vice” and Men at Work.   The 1980’s are definitely being channeled here and I feel like this is the soundtrack to a movie from that era, complete with the rat-a-tat-tat noises coming out.

So of course while listening to this my mind begins to wander and my mind begins to wonder about exactly who Charles Park is and why he has a trilogy, if only because there is a song named after him as well.   Naturally, this leads me to Google the name as I’m interested and maybe it will shed some light on various aspects of this album, who knows.

So, other than a few local results coming up, as well as links for this album specifically, the only thing I can seem to find here is a guy named Charles V. Park, who is best known for being a librarian.    What I immediately think about this though is that if this album—this trilogy—was in reference to the librarian then I feel fairly certain it wouldn’t have omitted the “V” from his name.

My only conclusion on this here second part is that this is a story completely made up by Makeup and Vanity Set and that Charles Park is a creation of theirs rather than an actual person they are basing this story around.   That just seems to add an entirely new level to things and I’m ready to take this to the next plane.
