CASSETTE REVIEW: John Horner s/t (Carbon Records)

                Strings breaking on electric guitars.

A fucked up Flight of the Bumblebee.

                Erratic and nonsensical.

These are some of the phrases to describe this John Horner tape in my notes.    In a lot of ways, it could be the new punk rock since you just never know what’s going to happen and it’s such a middle finger to the rules and norms of rock n roll or whatever.

This can be ambient and it can even be quiet, but by the second side it does pick up some steam.   There are shades of “In Utero” in here, laced with the rattling of a guitar.   It could also very easily be described as a strung out Elvis Presley.
