Shadow
Shyness has the quirky spontaneity of a band such as Deerhoof or Ladytron
combined with the male vocals that make me think of Gogol Bordello. It could be dream pop, but it could also be
synth pop. There seems to be a constant
drum machine. Hints of the B-52s are
also present.
The
only criticism I really have of this EP is that the line of “What happened
inside your eyes” doesn’t need to be repeated with an f-bomb in it. I am in no way for censorship and believe
people should be allowed to say what they want (swear words have never offended
me), but this just seems so out of place somehow.
