Back in 2000 something (I’m too lazy to look up the year) Jade Tree released a most awesome split EP between Alkaline Trio and Hot Water Music. While each band had an original song on there, they also had a few covers of the other’s songs. In a lot of ways, this EP reminds me of that EP, mainly because Signals Midwest has a fairly similar sound to Alkaline Trio and Worship This! clearly wants to be Hot Water Music.
What also gets me is that each band has two songs, and both of their second tracks are covers of each other. Man, that Jade Tree series could have had such possibilities. I’m still pissed we didn’t get a Liars Academy/Strike Anywhere split where they covered each other.
