The Illegal Wiretaps “Rat’s Eye View: B-Sides and Other Oddities From 2012”
Name Your Price Download
This twelve song collection was released on January 29th of 2013 and, well, as it says it is B-Sides and Other Oddities, you have to know that it is just that. This album has no particular rhyme or reason to it, but rather comes off like a grouping of scraps left on the studio floor.
That isn’t to say that these songs aren’t good, because they are very good, but this album just seems to have the most randomness to it of any of The Illegal Wiretaps albums so far, which coming from The Illegal Wiretaps is saying quite a lot.
We have songs that are long drones of noise, upbeat drum machine fueled dance numbers and, yes, even songs with actual vocals on them. Though these songs haven’t appeared on other releases (to my knowledge) this is somewhat like a “Best Of” album for The Illegal Wiretaps because it really showcases their various genre-bending styles.
