SBSR: Guilt Party “Basement Church Demo”

Recently, I’ve been downloading and listening to music like crazy from Band Camp.   This is a review of a group of songs by the same band I got from Band Camp- usually it constitutes an EP.   This is a song-by-song review and it is never to exceed six songs.   At the end, I will tell you the “Recommended Downloading Level”, which means whether or not I think you should spend your time downloading these songs.   It’s on a scale from 1 to 5, 5 meaning that you should stop reading my review and download these songs immediately and 1 meaning that if you even think about downloading these songs your computer will be infected with a horrific bad music virus.   Enjoy.
Guilt Party “Basement Church Demo”
01: “Moral Bankruptcy” [1:01] -- This is very fast paced punk rock.   Think Descendents.
02: “Church Burner” [1:32] -- Another fast paced song that’s not really different from the first except for the vocals.   It’s mostly just that old punk theory of playing as fast as you can.
03: “Clergy of Distrust” [0:50] -- This is when we really get into that Descendents sound with a little bit of Guttermouth thrown in.   This is so short and to the point I love it.
04: “Suburban Avidity” [0:52] – Here we go again.   This has a bit of Suicidal Tendencies sound to it, but it’s so short so it’s not quite there.
Overall, these are very fast and to the point songs, something like what 7 Seconds used to be about during the days of punk.  I haven’t heard something like this in a while and for being the kind of punk rock that it is, it’s very good.    Any fan of punk rock will love this stuff.
Recommended Downloading Level:  3/5
