Upon
first hearing this album, I found myself wanting to sing along with some of the
songs and I think that is just a pure testament as to how infectious these
tunes can be. On a broad level,
Megafauna combines the classic rock n roll past (anywhere from Led Zeppelin to
Buddy Holly to Nirvana) with a modern band such as One-Eyed Doll.
What
is difficult about describing the music of Megafauna is that they can be all
over the place- in terms of time frames- yet at the same time, they are rather
modern even when they let their past influences show. There are certainly hints of a modern rock
band ala Letters to Cleo in here or the such, but Megafauna does just an
excellent job of combining past, present and future to create a sound all their
own and I love this album for it.
