SPOTIFY REVIEW: Mark Peters / Ulrich Schnauss "Tomorrow is Another Day"

You do remember that this is The Year of Music, right?  So it should come as no surprise that this collaboration between Ulrich Schnauss (A Shoreline Dream) and Mark Peters has come out as well as an album with Bing Satellites and Daniel Land, as Land used to be in a band with these two.  Wow, we’re that close to a new Engineers record, aren’t we?

As much as I like to use associated acts to reference bands (This is related to Daniel Land so it must be good!), I’d like to throw all of those notions out of the metaphorical window right now.   I’d like to keep all of that sorted history out of the way and just focus on what this sounds like standing on its own two feet.  (Or in this case perhaps four feet?)

This music has electro beats mixed with FNL.  It’s got some guitars thrown in as well, which is nice.  I wouldn’t quite call it ambient, but it’s not post rock either.   It’s like if you think of ambient as being the 1 marker on the scale and post rock being the 10, then this could be a 5 or maybe 6 tops.

I’m hesitant to say that it doesn’t sound ambient because it’s too loud, but that’s really one of the only ways that I can explain it with words.
