The
most interesting song on this new album is “A Copy Of” because this album
sounds like a copy of a copy of a copy.
They use the idea of taking two steps forward for every two steps back
in a negative way, but for Trent Reznor it somehow works in a positive
way.
“Hesitation
Marks” seems to be the next logical progression in the style of his music and
heading forward it’s what you would expect based on past releases. However, it does also tip its hat backwards
in time to pay homage to “Pretty Hate Machine”, which is a definite plus.
