My
first thought about these four songs was as to why they weren’t available as a
cassette since they have the word tapes in the title. It seems like that was a missed opportunity,
but perhaps they still might make their way to cassette. I’d actually like to see these songs put out
as “fog tapes volume 1” and then just have every cassette come out with a
different number after it, so basically if Lucy Ford had ten albums out her
newest would be “fog tapes volume 10”.
That’s actually a project I’d get behind.
On a
whole, these songs are quite simple. If
you have a beat and a Casio it seems like you should be able to replicate them
yourself. And while I don’t mind the
simplicity, I do feel like the music itself doesn’t feel quite complete. This seems better for the remixing (to put
behind a track, if you will) than to be remixed itself (to stand on its
own).
