I’ve listened to two Arctic Monkeys
albums prior to this and despite what everyone else seems to think, I was left
underwhelmed. Needless to say I went
into this with very low expectations… and I still didn’t like it.
“R U Mine?”, “No. 1 Party Anthem”
and “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High” seem more like running gags with
the band than actual songs. Maybe there’s
something I’m just missing here, but this in no way appeals to me.
