CD REVIEW: The Late Show “Portable Pop”

The Late ShowPortable Pop
From what I can best tell this is a re-release of music from the 1970’s with some bonus tracks thrown in at the end that are “Alternate Versions” and two previously unreleased songs.   This has hints of Smoking Popes and The Replacements right down to Buddy Holly and the band from That Thing You Do.     Is this being released seriously today though?  I don’t know.   It’s good, but even with a classic label I don’t think I’d really want to listen to it regularly.
