Often times I'll hear a band that channels that 1980's sound of music and say that they might sound like someone such as Tears for Fears but that they have that modern edge to them as well. The difference between all of those artists and Filter Distortion (Who, based on their name, is not a combination of the bands Filter and Social Distortion) is that there is no real modern element here. "Transition" sounds as if it was ripped right out of the 1980's and brought to us today.
Whether it be a forgotten Dead or Alive album or perhaps songs that were going to be a soundtrack to "The Wedding Singer" if it was to be filled with original music, this is really a great piece of music regardless of the time it was found.
