Musically,
this EP of six songs begins not too much unlike previous female acts you may
have heard from this idea of rockabilly and then into the Buddy Holly era of
rock n roll. Yes, this brings out some
qualities of Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside as well as Shannon and the
Clams, but by the time you really get into it you can hear the dream pop coming
through.
What
bugs me about this EP is that they have a line in one song about how “If you
just listen to the Smiths your depression seems like a gift” (I might not have
done that word for word, but the idea is withstanding) That single line, if presented to a large
enough audience, could set back mental health I don’t even want to think about
how many years.
The
rest of this EP is wonderful, I just cringe and cannot listen to it knowing
that idea is in one of the songs. Next!
