WWE
SummerSlam 1988 was a good one.
Ultimate Warrior took the IC Title from the Honky Tonk Man. Demolition fought the Hart Foundation. And in the main event, Hulk Hogan and Randy
Savage defeated Ted Dibiase and Andre the Giant.
But
this isn’t a wrestling review, this is a music review. SummerSlam 88 is a punk rock band that can
channel bands from the early era of Epitaph, Green Day prior to “Dookie”, “Teriyaki
Moto” era Guttermouth and older MxPx.
Overall,
these songs are solid and to the punk rock point. My only problem with them is the lyrics to
the first one in the chorus (Well, first song, second track) being about
wanting to hand the mic to his friends and hear them yell “fuck yeah”
back. It’s a bit cheesy, but otherwise
this is a solid EP.
