If you can imagine every
time you’ve ever heard a female voice sing on the radio and then quickly
disappear (Yes, I do think about them quite often as a matter of fact) then
your mind has probably already glanced over Sarah Miles without your even
knowing it.
Sarah Miles has the
friendly and inviting sort of pop rock that one would expect from a radio one
hit wonder ala Michelle Branch or Anna Nalick, only she really delivers on the
album as a whole. Should she never be
on the radio, she should certainly be an underground phenomenon. Should she be on the radio, she should take
the route of someone such as Alanis Morissette and deliver hit after hit.
Even a song like “Break
Into Two” can get this Hellogoodbye quality to it that makes it enjoyable. So while I have a hard time explaining this
music (Though my wife likes it, does that count for anything?) I also have a
hard time finding any fault with this album.
