The Caroline Sessions “Finale” v/a
This live set of songs features the likes of Chase Hamblin, Andrew Karnavas, Matt Harlan, Clory Martin, Corey Power, Chris Garver, Melissa Savcic, Luke Lucas, Frank Freeman and Rachel Jones. Of those names, I honestly only know two.
The songs themselves are folk bordering on country but they have enough raw passion coming out in their live acoustic performances that it doesn’t matter whether you like country music or not. A few of the performers on here have solo songs, but for the most part it’s just them singing together in various forms. It reminds me a bit of the movie “A Mighty Wind”.
Definitely worth checking out because there is something for everyone in here and if you know some of these artists you’ll enjoy their live sets, but if you don’t any of them then you might just make a new friend. I, for example, really like Rachel Jones after hearing this album.
