CD REVIEW: A Shoreline Dream “III EP”

A Shoreline Dream “III EP”
This is a SBSR.  If you don’t know the drill by now, learn it!
1)      “osceola” – We start with some nice upbeat drums.   As I’m switching from EP to EP of three songs each- and have to do so once more- I am beginning to wonder why these nine songs weren’t just put together as one album, but again, they don’t tell me how to write so I won’t tell them how to release their music.   In some funny way, this song almost picks up where the last EP left off musically.   It kicks in beautifully at the two and a half marker, but still no vocals.   This song happens to be 3:33 in length.  It’d be cool if they all were, but the next one is about five minutes.

2)      “sixth” – We’re back to the same and these two songs are beginning to run together which is not a good sign for this, but hopefully they can pick it up on the next one.   2:50 in and no vocals.  We seem to be stuck in the same place.   And just as seemingly boringly as this song began, so it ends.

3)      “103” – I’m feeling a little more pop here so I have higher hopes for this song.   Here come some more of those Cure-type vocals.  This song, like the first but not the second, happens to be 3:33.  So strange, but three is the magic number.   You can really hear the Cure in this song.
