DIIV “Oshin”
The first song on this album- which is instrumental- reminds me of a cross between Duran Duran and Aloha. From there, whiny vocals kick in and it’s all downhill. It’s one of those indie rock sort of pop bands that has these feelings like they’re doing something bigger and faster than what they’re really doing. It seems like it’s fast for indie kids, but the reality of it is that it comes off sounding like a lighter version of Silversun Pickups.
