CLAYPIGEON EP3
Recently, I’ve been downloading and listening to music like crazy from Band Camp. This is a review of a group of songs by the same band I got from Band Camp- usually it constitutes an EP. This is a song-by-song review and it is never to exceed six songs. At the end, I will tell you the “Recommended Downloading Level”, which means whether or not I think you should spend your time downloading these songs. It’s on a scale from 1 to 5, 5 meaning that you should stop reading my review and download these songs immediately and 1 meaning that if you even think about downloading these songs your computer will be infected with a horrific bad music virus. Enjoy.
<1> “Luck & Chance & Gambling” [2:59] – This is bizarre. It starts with a verse that has that particular white-rap-rock sound to it (You know it when you hear it) and then it kicks into more of a punk sound like something out of the Dropkick Murphys catalog. Without the rapping this would be pretty good.
<2> “Some Go Stealing” [4:42] – This song starts off sounding more like Operation Ivy. Then it turns into some sort of rock rap.
<3> “Compass” [3:23] – We start off rapping, which isn’t bad, but I just don’t like it mixed with the punk rock sound.
I like the rap at times and I like the punk sound of it, but they just aren’t doing it for me mixed together. It’s not quite 311-like, but something like that.
Recommended Downloading Level: 2/5
