LCD Soundsystem “This is Happening” (DFA Records)
I so much want to like LCD Soundsystem and their talking way of singing, but even the catchy hooks in the background couldn’t quite suck me in. The best way to describe LCD Soundsystem is to call them pretentious—they’re trying to be something better than they are. It’s kind of simple in style and it makes me embarrassed for it when I hear some of the tongue in cheek lyrics that supposed to be clever but just fall completely flat for me.
