Foster the People “Torches” (Columbia)
I was first introduced to Foster the People the same way that I think most people probably were—their song on the radio “ song name “. It has that cool vibe that could be attributed to a sound of the 1950’s or 1960’s, such as Buddy Holly only not, and yet it blends in these beats in the background that make it all too modern. It reminds me somewhat of New Radicals or that Sex Underground band in terms of the sound, only a bit better in terms of song quality and overall longevity.
I really do feel that if you like their song from the radio you’ll enjoy this album on the whole. The other songs are similar enough to please you, but not too much of the same so that the contents become boring.
