I’ve always been a fan of The Rocketeer movie and this comic book isn’t much different from that. If you enjoyed the movie, you’ll probably enjoy this as well. But I think that even the people who didn’t like this movie still have the potential to like this comic book.
First off, this comic book takes place in a different time period, which, when drawn to paper, always seems to make me happy. Reading this comic book was, I’ll admit, a means of escape for me when I didn’t want to face reality (which is more often than not) There are good action sequences and basically it has the all-around feel of something done in the 1950’s or earlier.
Another reason why people may like this more than the movie is the simple depiction of the character of Betty. She’s got that pinup look you can tell was inspired by Bettie Page. That alone should be reason enough to check this out, but it does have some suspense and overall just proved to be enjoyable.
