SBSR: [aftersun] “Pain Sounds EP”

 [aftersun] Pain Sounds EP

<1> You Were Right” – This is a fun guitar riff and I feel like we’re going into some Bon Jovi.  I recently found a Bon Jovi tape I was embarrassed to own.   Let’s just say it wasn’t “Slippery When Wet” and leave it at that.  I could also imagine this as being a professional wrestler’s theme song, if most wrestlers didn’t come out to generic nu-rock that sucked the big one.   And the vocals come in and I am reminded why I love this band so much.   Seriously, if you’re not listening to [aftersun] please tell me why.

<2> “Walking Through This Door Again” – Whoa, the synth on this is gearing up to do something.   I bet this band would be amazing to see live.   This does have a fairly distinct new wave sound, which is not to say that it doesn’t also sound like New Order.

<3> “Goodbye” – I didn’t realize this song was a part of this EP when I downloaded it as a single, so it has its own review (Which you should already know)  So I’ll skip it for review purposes, but continue listening to it for continuity purposes.

<4> “Don’t Touch” – Dig those drum beats.
