SBSR: The Handshake “Canned Acoustica Sessions”

Recently, I’ve been downloading and listening to music like crazy from Band Camp.   This is a review of a group of songs by the same band I got from Band Camp- usually it constitutes an EP.   This is a song-by-song review and it is never to exceed six songs.   At the end, I will tell you the “Recommended Downloading Level”, which means whether or not I think you should spend your time downloading these songs.   It’s on a scale from 1 to 5, 5 meaning that you should stop reading my review and download these songs immediately and 1 meaning that if you even think about downloading these songs your computer will be infected with a horrific bad music virus.   Enjoy.
The Handshake “Canned Acoustica Sessions”
01: Soldiers (acoustic) [4:26] -- A slow, almost folk mixed with country and maybe some blues or something as well.   It’s acoustic and live so maybe it’s not the best representation of the band, but who can say.  The vocals go from a somber matter of fact delivery to a more high pitched almost crying in the chorus, and the words back up the sad tale being told.
This is only one song, so it is what it is, but I don’t know how much it represents the sound of The Handshake overall.   It could be very easily that if you like this song, and then hear other songs by them in a non-acoustic manner, you may not be so fond of those other songs.  But at the same time, this is just one song and is a rather quick download so it’s worth it to me.
Recommended Downloading Level:  3/5
